Jacks Garner First Win of the Season

Results: Men's Tennis vs. Auggie

For the first time this season, the South Dakota State men's tennis team garnered a 5-2 victory at Augustana Friday evening.

"Today was a great show of grit and determination," Ffion Davies said. We fought from the first ball to the last! It's great for the guys to get a win right before conference matches. I'm so proud of each and every one of them! They should all be very proud of what they did today."

SDSU improves to 1-18 on the season, while the Vikings fall to 6-9.

Elliot Ward and Aidan DeBoer won the first point for the Jacks with an 8-4 win at No. 2 doubles.

Carlos Martinez and Alexander Reinke captured the second point with an 8-2 victory at No. 3.

Senior Marco Paulo Castro was victorious at No. 3 with a 6-4, 6-2 decision.

Reinke garnered the fourth point for State with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 4.

Ward claimed the win with a 7-6, 6-0 victory at No. 5.
