Tough Challenge in Chicago
- South Dakota State travels to Chicago for its first road game of the season and plays its first ranked team of the year. The Jacks take on No. 18/20 DePaul at 7 p.m. Saturday in McGrath-Phillips Arena.
- The Jackrabbits, 1-1, lost to BIG EAST opponent Creighton Tuesday, ending the NCAA's fourth-longest home winning streak at 22 games. Senior Mariah Clarin led four Jacks in double figures with a career-high 21 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field and 11-of-17 shooting from the free-throw line.
- DePaul won its third game in a row with a 101-77 win over in-state rival Bradley Tuesday. Six Blue Demons were in double digits in scoring led by Brittany Hrynko's 19 points.
- Saturday's game will be the first meeting between South Dakota State and DePaul. The Jackrabbits are also 4-12 vs. teams from the BIG EAST.
Noteworthy
- The Jackrabbits' 22-game home winning streak, formerly the fourth-longest in the NCAA, and 19-game regular-season home win streak were snapped Tuesday. The last time the Jacks lost in Frost Arena was Jan. 19, 2013, to IUPUI, 57-56.
- South Dakota State moved up four spots in this week's CollegeInsider Mid-Major poll. The Jacks opened the season 10th and took over 6th in Tuesday's poll.Â
- Two games into the season and four members of the Jackrabbits' starting lineup are averaging double figures in scoring. Mariah Clarin leads the group, averaging 17.5 points per game followed by senior Megan Waytashek (16.0), sophomore Kerri Young (13.0) and freshman Macey Miller (10.5).
- In DePaul, SDSU faces a high-scoring team. The Blue Demons ranked fifth in Division 1 last season, scoring at a 83.5 points per game clip. In four games this season, they are averaging 89.8 ppg.
- In additon to scoring, DePaul's up-tempo style of play has forced 125 opponent turnovers or 31.3 per game. Additionally, the Blue Demons are averaging 13.3 steal per game.

- South Dakota State is ranked No. 6th in the CollegeInsider Mid-Major poll moving up four spots from the preseason poll. It is the Jacks' highest ranking.

- DePaul enters Saturday's game 3-1 on the season and ranked No. 18/20 in the latest AP and Coaches polls. The Blue Demons lost their season and home opener, 76-68, to No. 5/5 Texas A&M, but rebounded with a pair of wins in the Maggie Dixon Classic in Chicago and a victory over Bradley (101-77) Tuesday.
- Senior Brittany Hrynko leads the squad in scoring (16.3) and steals (3.2) and is second in assists (4.3) after scoring 19 points, dishing 8 assists and making 7 steals against Bradley.
- On the boards, senior guard Centrese McGee averages 6.8 per game, but five Blue Demons average 5.0 caroms per outing.
- DePaul is shooting 42.1 percent from the field, 30.8 from three-point range and 65.5 percent from the foul line. They are also scoring at an 89.8 clip, but also allowing opponents to score 70-plus points per game.
