Jacks Try To Start Another Streak
- South Dakota State, coming off a loss to No. 18/20 DePaul Saturday, leads off a doubleheader with the Jackrabbit men's basketball team in the friendly confines of Frost Arena Tonight at 6 p.m. against Sam Houston State.
- The Jackrabbits, 1-2, will try to avoid losing three consecutive games for the first time since last December. SDSU committed a season-high 34 turnovers in Saturday's 84-62 loss at DePaul. Senior Megan Waytashek became the Jacks' 33rd career 1,000-point scorer and scored a game- and season-high 26 points in the loss.
- Sam Houston State, 0-2, lost to Wiley College in its home opener Saturday, 65-48. Shernise Robertson and Taylor Dorsey scored 13 points each as the Bearkats shot just 28.6 percent from the field.
- Tonight's game marks the first meeting between South Dakota State and Sam Houston State.
