ORLANDO, Fla. -- South Dakota State remained perfect on its spring break trip with another sweep. The Jacks swept Sienna this afternoon with the men and women both winning, 7-0 and 6-1, respecitvely.
"Today was another good day for us," head coach Michael Engdahl said. "Tomorrow is going to be a huge mental test for us after a long week. I'm excited to see how we handle it."
On the men's side, Andrea Boglic won No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-3, while Lovro Curcija and Henrique Pereira won No. 2 and No. 3, 6-1, 6-1 and 6-1, 6-2, respectively. Mateus Moreira won No. 4, 6-1, 6-1. Gary Notkin won No. 5, 6-4, 6-3 and Lucas Pereira won No. 6, 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles, Boglic/Lawley won 8-4, Notkin/L. Pereira won, 8-6 and Moreira/Curcija won, 8-0.
On the women's side, Jenny Blackburne, Iasmin Rosa, Ffion Davies, Beatriz Souza and Tacy Haws-Lay were all victorious. In doubles, Rosa/Souza and Davies Haws-Lay solidified the double's point for the Jacks.
Both squads close out their spring break trips tomorrow with double-headers.
