DENVER, Colo. -- South Dakota State outlasted weather delays Saturday to defeated IUPUI 4-3. The Jacks and Jags split singles, but SDSU claimed the decisive double's point en route to a win in its season finale.
Iasmin Rosa/Beatriz Souza and Ffion Davies/Tacy Haws-Lay both won their respective double's match 8-5 to secure the point.
We didn't play our best tennis today, but the girls still found a way to win," head coach Michael Engdahl said. "It is definitely a match we need to learn from so we are ready for next weekend."
In singles, Jenny Blackburne won at No. 2 6-2, 6-2. Souza and Haws-Lay also won 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 and 6-0, 6-0, respectively.
"The girls should be proud of the season they have had and I know everyone is looking forward to the Summit League tournament."
SDSU will return to Denver next weekend as the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.
