BROOKINGS, S.D. – Nov. 3, 2016 – The South Dakota State University women's basketball team allowed only 17 second-half points as the Jackrabbits recorded a 78-45 exhibition win over Dakota Wesleyan Thursday night in front of 1,623 fans at Frost Arena.

The Jackrabbits are now 20-0 all-time in exhibition games since moving to the NCAA Division I level.

Macy Miller's game-high 16 points led SDSU. Sophomore
Madison Guebert and junior
Ellie Thompson each added 13 points.

Sarah Carr led Dakota Wesleyan with 13 points.

The teams were tied 22-22 with 6:53 to play in the second quarter before the Jackrabbits went on a 9-0 run, capped by a 3-point field goal by sophomore
Sydney Palmer with 4:16 to play in the first half. The Jackrabbits led 42-28 at half.

South Dakota State opened the third quarter with a 9-2 run for a 51-30 lead after a basket by Thompson. The Jackrabbits then pushed the lead to 32 points, 70-38, when Palmer scored inside the lane with 4:14 remaining in the game. SDSU held Dakota Wesleyan scoreless in the fourth quarter's opening six minutes.
