Equestrian Hosts SMU for Senior Day

The South Dakota State equestrian team is set to host No. 8 SMU for Senior Day on Saturday at the DeHaan Equestrian Center. Start time is set for 9 a.m. CT.

The Jackrabbits and the Mustangs are meeting for the seventh time in program history with SMU leading the series 1-3 overall and 0-2 in hunt seat only meetings. The last time the two teams met was October 30, 2015 when SDSU traveled to Dallas.

SDSU is coming off an 8-8 win over No. 10 New Mexico State. The Jacks won in raw score, 1,228-1,204.25.

Junior Alissa Greenwald won the lone point in Equitation over Fences with a 79-72 decision over Samantha Perlman.

Senior Kelsey Swainston improved her career-wins to 20, upending Haylee Schoonover, 73-69.5. Jordan Gates won the second point in Horsemanship with a 70.5-59 victory.

The Jacks and the Aggies tied 2-2 in Equitation on the Flat. Natalie Howard garnered MOP honors with an 80-78 decision over Madison Brayman. Jacey Chorlton topped Karianna Knezevich, 76-74.
