Carlos Martinez captured the championship title in the Flight D singles bracket at the Bluejay Invitational on Saturday.

The freshman defeated Joe Hoff of Creighton, 6-2, 6-3 before topping Alex Exsted, 7-6 (6), 7-5 in the finals.
Chuck Tang won the consolation finals in the flight by upending Hunter Terrell, 6-4, 6-4 and Ben Yeacker, 6-2, 6-2, both from North Dakota.

In Flight C singles,
Marco Paulo Castro placed second after falling to Nick Wade of Northern Colorado, 6-2, 6-4. The senior won a 7-6(1), 7-5 decision over Ryan Harden to advance to the finals. Junior
Alexander Reinke lost in the consolation finals, 6-1, 4-6, 10-3 after defeating Matt Hokanson of UND, 6-4, 7-5.

Freshman
Aidan DeBoer placed second in Flight E, falling to a 6-4, 7-6 (2) mark in the finals. The Sioux Falls native, topped Marko Vokelovic of Creighton, 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-0 en route to the championship round.

Emerson Styles dropped a 6-4, 6-2 decision to play for seventh place before retiring in the final match.

Alberto Gonzalez Raton lost 4-6, 7-5, 11-4 in the second round before capturing a 6-2, 7-5 win in the third.

In Flight B,
Henrique Stemmer lost the third round, 7-6, 6-2, before falling 6-1, 6-3 in the fourth.

On the doubles side, Styles and Tang claimed second in Flight B doubles after a 6-2 loss to Gandini and Hoff of Creighton. Reinke and Castro placed seventh in the bracket with a 6-3 win over McCartney and Lawson of Doane.

Stemmer and DeBoer placed seventh in Flight A with a 6-2 win over Morell and Benitez of Doane.

Gonzalez Raton and Martinez captured a 6-2 win over Abromeit and Boles of Doane.
