The South Dakota State men's tennis team was picked seventh in The Summit League preseason poll voted on by the league's coaches, announced on Thursday.

Drake was picked first with 35 total points and five first place votes. Denver followed behind with 32 points, then Valparaiso (22), Illinois State and Omaha tied for fourth with 19 points and Oral Roberts came in sixth with 14.

Drake, Illinois State and Valparaiso joined with league this season as affiliate members.

Emerson Styles was chosen for the Players to Watch list after winning seven singles matches, six of those at the No. 1 position last season.

The championship is April 27-28 and hosted by defending champion Denver.
