Women's Tennis Falls to Missouri State

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The South Dakota State women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to Missouri State Friday afternoon.

SDSU falls to 0-10 on the season, while MSU improves to 5-5.

Another tough day," head coach Joey J. Barnes said. "MSU really competed well. We are still trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together to see the full picture as well as the feeling of accomplishment. We are in the 'fight.' We need to be acutely aware of our determination, focus, energy and execution."

The Bears swept doubles to win the point. Maria Laura Velazco and Emilly Van Dijk fell short at No. 3, 7-6.

Laura Romero won the lone point for State with a 1-6, 6-3, 10-4 decision at No. 6.
