The tough tournaments keep coming for the South Dakota State women's golf team. The Jackrabbits open play Monday in the 22^nd-annual Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, hosted by Tennessee.

The event will be played at the 54-hole, par-71, 5,900-yard Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville. Teams have a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start Monday and 8 a.m. shotgun start Tuesday.

Joining the Jacks in the 17-team field are five teams ranked in Golfstat.com's top 50—No. 15 Kent State, No. 23 Illinois, No. 34 Ole Miss, No. 40 NC State and No. 43 Tennessee.

SDSU played in the 2015 Mercedes-Benz Collegiate Championship, finishing 14^th.

Earlier this week, the Jacks placed 15th in the sixth-annual Minnesota Invitational. Junior Teresa Toscano led the team, tying for 14^th with a three-over par 219.

Toscano leads the team with a 72.50 stroke average while classmate Sydney Bormann is second with a 75.50 stroke average.
