DANBURY, Conn. -- South Dakota State equestrian's Jordan Gates and Cassandra Townsend have earned Rider of the Week honors following the team's first week of competition, as announced by the Eastern College Athletics Conference office Tuesday morning.

Gates earned MOP in her ride Horsemanship against Oklahoma State, winning her point 76-75. The senior's score of 76 ties a career high as she nets her second career MOP in the event.

Townsend made her collegiate debut Thursday and Friday by winning points in both of her rides in reining. She defeated her TCU opponent 64-63 and won 74-71.5 against OSU.

Up Next
The Jacks have a pair of meets in Martin, Tenn. slated for Thursday Oct. 10 and Friday Oct. 11. The first matchup is against UT Martin followed by a neutral site meet against Delaware State.
