The South Dakota State women's golf team will open the spring portion of its season at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational at The Landing Course in Greensboro, Ga. Feb. 21-23.
The three-day, 54-hole event will be played at 6,134 yards and par of 72. SDSU will compete in a 15-team field including: host Mercer, Albany, Auburn, Chattanooga, Daytona State, Delaware, East Carolina, East Tennessee State, North Florida, Rutgers, South Alabama, UNC-Asheville, UNC-Wilmington and Wofford. The first two rounds will begin with assigned tee times off holes 1 and 10, while Sunday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. CT/9 a.m. ET.Â
Last year at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invitational, the Jackrabbits finished 12th with 939 (318-313-308), while Vanderbuilt won the 17-team event. Teresa Toscano tied for 11th with 224 (76-75-73) in the 105-player field.
The Jackrabbits' lineup will feature Toscano, Mia Seeman, Lani Potter, Cassidy Laidlaw and Sydney Bormann, while Alex Kandolin will compete as an individual.
Toscano holds a team-best stroke average and ranks second in the Summit League at 72.50. The senior recorded top-10 finishes in all four tournaments that the Jackrabbits competed in during the fall. Additionally, she finished tied for third in both the NM State Aggie Invitational and Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown. Seeman and Potter average 75.33 and 76.44, respectively.
