South Dakota State's Tatum Pickar has been named this week's TicketSmarter Summit League Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.
Pickar tallied 5.32 digs per set (38 total) and six service aces last week to help the Jacks' to a 2-0 mark. She had 24 digs and six aces, two shy of the SDSU single-match record, in the team's 3-1 win over Western Illinois. In the sweep of St. Thomas, Pickar had 14 digs, the only player in double figures.
This is Pickar's third career defensive player of the week honor and the first for a Jackrabbit this season.
SDSU will host North Dakota State at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Frost Arena.Â
