MONTGOMERY, Texas – South Dakota State men's golf rose two spots on the leaderboard Wednesday to finish in a tie for fifth at the Bentwater Intercollegiate at Bentwater Country Club.
Jack Tanner,
Liam Georgiadis and
Jonah Dohrer posted matching 70 (-1) scorecards in the final round for the Jacks.
RESULTS
Tanner ended the event with a 211 (69-72-70) total score to finish 2-under-par. He tied for third place, up three spots from his place after day two. Tanner's 211 is a career best total score and matches his second-best score to par.
Georgiadis finished 14th for the Jacks. He improved his score each day and was four shots behind Tanner with a 215 (74-71-70). Georgiadis carded an eagle on hole seven, his second eagle of the tournament.
Dohrer,
Matthew Schaefer and
Noah Boraas turned in 225, 225 and 226 total scores, respectively. Dohrer was 39th overall, Schaefer was 43rd and Boraas was 45th.
Sam Houston was the only team to finish the event under par and the Bearkats won the team title by 20 shots. The Bearkats' Chad Sewell won the individual crown by 11 strokes.
