South Dakota State goes back on the road to take on Creighton Sunday night at D.J. Sokol Arena in Omaha.
The Jackrabbits head into the contest with a 2-2 record after a 78-49 win over Montana State Thursday night.
Paige Meyer and
Tylee Irwin pace the Jackrabbits with 11.8 and 11.3 PPG, respectively.
Paiton Burckhard chips in 9.0 points to go with a team-high 5.8 rebounds. Meyer gives out 4.3 assists per game.
Creighton is 1-2 on the year with a win over Omaha and losses to Drake and Nebraska.
Morgan Maly scores an even 13 points per game to pace the Bluejays. Carly Bachelor leads the rebounding efforts with 6.7 on average while Molly Mogensen tops the assists and steals charts with 4.3 and 2.0 per game, respectively.

- South Dakota State evened its season record at 2-2 Thursday with a 78-49 win over Montana State.
- The Jackrabbits are looking for their first road win of the season Sunday. SDSU is 0-2 away from Frost with losses to Mississippi State (71-76) an No. 14 Iowa State (56-75).
- Paige Meyer is one of just two freshmen in NCAA DI to average at least 11.8 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per contest. She leads the team in points and and assists and ranks second in rebounding.
- The Jackrabbits have had a different leading scorer in all four games (Burckhard, Meyer, Vlastuin, Timmer) and at least three players in double figures in each game.
- Meyer and fellow freshman Haleigh Timmer, SDSU's only newcomers, combine to score 21.3 points per game, 31 percent of the Jackrabbits' total scoring.
- Paiton Burckhard is the Jacks' top rebounder with 5.8 per game and is the third highest scorer at 9.0 per contest.
- Burckhard joined South Dakota State's 1,000-point club at Mississippi State. She is the third active Jackrabbit to achieve the milestone, joining Myah Selland and Tylee Irwin on the list. State is one of just a handful of national programs with three or more 1,000 point scorers
- State was picked to finish second in the 2021-22 Summit League Preseason Poll, splitting the first-place votes with South Dakota (20-18). Burckhard, Irwin and Selland were named to the Preseason All-Summit League team.
- Selland was tabbed as the Summit League Preseason Player of the Year and was recently named to the Becky Hammon Mid-Major Player of the Year Watch List along with the Cheryl Miller Small Forward Award Watch List, Naismith Trophy Watch List and Wooden Award Watch List.
