WOMEN WIN, MEN FALL AGAINST USD

VERMILLION — The South Dakota State women's swim and dive team passed South Dakota 149-92, while the men fell 163-80 in a Friday dual meet in the DakotaDome Pool. Final results can be found here.
Beginning with diving, Zach Boyd finished second in the men's 1m dive with 263.70 points, Erik Thompson finished third with 234.68 and Spencer Fritze finished fourth with 233.85 points.
On the 3m board, Spencer Fritze took gold with 296.63 points, Zach Boyd came in second and 276.60 and Erik Thompson took fifth with 226.88.
Aleni Stoakes took first on the 1m board with a mark of 215.48, Quincee Simonson took bronze with 208.88, Julia Gill tallied 206.10 for fourth and Abbigail Rouse finished fifth with 185.55.
Quincee Simonson came in second with 217.73 points and Aleni Stoakes took third with 217.13. Abbigail Rouse (4th, 215.93 5) and Julia Gill (5th, 203.93) rounded out the SDSU divers.
SDSU 'A' (Kocon, Frigard, Davis, Walz) finished first in a time of 2:01.5 in the 200 medley relay, while SDSU 'B' (Downes, Eckstein, Ocon, Drezen) finished third in a time of 2:04.73. On the men's side, the Jackrabbit 'A' squad made up of Marcus Benson, Quenton Steffen, Cody Watkins and Justin Waller finished in third with a time of 1:51.20.
Zoey Ahrens swam a 9:39.59 to take silver in the women's 800 free. On the men's side Cayden Christianson swam a 8:56.18 to earn second.Â
Emily Pincus picked up her first win of the day with a 200 free clocking of 2:09.30, and later won the 400 free with a 4:37.28 clocking to lead the Jacks.
Also picking up a first place finish, Elisabeth Timmer swam a 26.79 to take first in the 50 free, while Katie Drezen followed with a 27.55 for third. Charles Sieglaff won bronze with a 24.14 in the men's 50 free.
Alyssa Eckstein won the 200 IM with a 2:27.21 marking and Cayden Christianson followed up, also taking first with a 2:09.66.
Kristen Davis took second in a time of 1:04.98 and Liezl Ocon finished third with a 1:07.89 in the women's 100 fly. Cody Watkins swam a 1:00.24 for second, and Cade Schoenauer came in third with a 1:00.63 for the men.
Elisabeth Timmer finished the women's 100 free with a mark of 59.16 and Emma Walz came in third with a 1:00.61 and Alex Kraft took second with a time of 53.54.
Kelsey Kocon (1:05.65) and Sianne Downes (1:06.50) went 1-3 in the 100 back. Marcus Benson finished in a time of 1:00.13 for third place in the men's race.
Samantha Frigard (1:15.32) and Alyssa Eckstein (1:15.82) went 1-2 for the Jacks in the 100 breast, while Quenton Steffen followed with a 1:08.26 for second place.
SDSU 'A' (Sieglaff, Kraft, Murray, Bierschbach) took third in the 400 free relay in a time of 3:37.8.
