South Dakota State women's volleyball posted its second consecutive sweep Friday evening as it topped North Dakota 3-0 (27-25, 25-20, 25-23) inside Frost Arena.

The Jackrabbits improved to 4-10 overall and 4-9 in Summit League play while North Dakota fell to 2-11, 2-9 Summit League.

Akeela Jefferson led the way for State, tying a career-best 12 kills.
Crystal Burk tallied her sixth consecutive double-double with 11 kills and 11 digs. Also registering a double-double was
Carly Wedel with 34 assists and 13 digs.
Hailee Blau tallied nine kills and
Anna Nerad posted two blocks.
Tatum Pickar paced the team with 26 digs and three service aces.

North Dakota got off to a 12-9 lead in the first when five unanswered Jackrabbit points that included kills by Jefferson, Blau and Nerad put State ahead 14-12. The Jacks held onto its lead at 17-18 when a 5-1 run put UND back in front (22-19). SDSU claimed eight of the final 11 points to take the first set, 25-27.

The Fighting Hawks started the second set with a 6-2 advantage as a 6-1 run gave the Jackrabbits an 8-7 edge. South Dakota State held on to its lead the rest of the way as a kill by Nerad and a UND setting error sealed a 25-20 second set win.

The Jackrabbits opened the scoring in the second set as it jumped ahead to an early 6-2 lead. A 9-4 run gave the Fighting Hawks the lead that they would later turn into a 15-13 advantage. A 9-3 Jackrabbit scoring spurt that included a pair of kills by Nerad and one from Blau put State back in the lead (22-18). The teams alternated the last few points, but a kill by Jefferson completed the Jackrabbit sweep.
