SIOUX FALLS— South Dakota State's Tatum Pickar has been named Summit League Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office Tuesday.

The Cannon Falls, Minn. native tallied 49 digs for an average of 6.125 digs per set during this weekend's series sweep over North Dakota. During Friday's three-set victory (27-25, 25-20, 25-23), Pickar notched 26 digs for an average of 8.66 per set, which leads the league for digs in a three-set matches this season.

Saturday's five set thriller (25-16, 19-25, 23-25, 25-15, 15-12) saw Pickar tally another 23 digs to close out SDSU's home season with a win.

Over the weekend, the junior recorded six aces from the service line and committed zero reception errors to help lead the Jacks. Pickar sits second in the Summit League with 261 digs on the season and 5.44 digs/set.

South Dakota State travels to Tulsa, Okla. to face Oral Roberts Friday and Saturday. Match times are set for 7 p.m. and 5 p.m., respectively.
