GULF SHORES, Ala. - Teresa Toscano improved to first place and South Dakota State women's golf sits in fifth place after two rounds of the Bama Beach Bash.
The Jackrabbits bettered their first round score by 12 strokes with a team score of 299 on day two, improving their overall team score to 610 (+34). State is just five strokes behind fourth place holder Little Rock (605).
Holding the top spot in the individual rankings, Toscano finished the second round with at three-under 69 and has a 36-hole score of 142 (-2) heading into the final day of play. Toscano is three strokes ahead of the four golfers who are tied for second.
Mia Seeman is tied for 12th after finishing today with a score of 70 (-2). Hester Sicking is tied for 35th after two rounds of firing 78 (+6), for a total score of 156 (+12) in the tournament. Cassidy Laidlaw is tied for 60th, posting a two-round score of 162 (+18) and Lani Potter rounds out the Jackrabbit golfers with a score of 163 (+19).Â
Playing individually, Alex Kandolin is tied for 37th with a score of 157 (+13).Â
Louisiana Monroe leads the team standings with a score of 591 (+15).
Up Next South Dakota State will compete in the third and final round of the Bama Beach Bach on Sunday. Tee times begin at 8 a.m. off of the first hole.
