The South Dakota State equestrian team will travel to Martin, Tenn. this weekend for the ECACÂ Championship tournament.
The Jacks enter the championships ranked second in the conference with SMU leading, and UT Martin, Delaware State and UC Davis following, respectively.Â
A total of four competitions will take place over the course of three days at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Pavilion. South Dakota State will battle No. 3 UT Martin at 8:30 a.m. CT Friday. If the Jacks win, they will advance to Saturday's championships and face the winner of SMU vs. Delaware State/UC Davis.

State's equestrian team is coming off one of its best season in recent years, having secured the first triple-victory season for the program since 2017-18 when the Jacks went 5-7. Currently, SDSU sits 3-2 with wins over Minnesota-Crookston, Delaware State, and a thrilling 8-8 tiebreaker victory over UT Martin. The Jacks have lost to SMU and TCU this season.Â
