JACKS SET FOUR SCHOOL RECORDS OVER WEEKEND

Four Jacks rewrote school records between meets at South Dakota and Ole Miss over the weekend.Â
Ellie Friesen turned in a double-PR weekend including a new school record in the women's 1500 at the Joe Walker Invite in Oxsford, MIss. Friesen ran a 4:21.15 in the 1500 to blow past her previous best of 4:34.41. On Saturday, the Cresco, Iowa native ran a 2:11.89 in the 800 to improve from her previous 2:15.13.
SDSU's school record holder in the 100 hurdles, Jaymie O'Connor, ran a new PR of 13.59 in prelims with her previous best coming as a 13.70 clocking.
Coby Hilton clocked a 10.23 for a .16 second improvement in the 100m dash and also anchored State speedsters Manny Phoulom-Smith, Jake Werner and Daniel Clarke to a 40.37 4x100 for the second-fastest time in school history.
Finally, Evan Hieber scored 6,454 points in the decathlon and is now 20th in the nation in the mult-event.Â

On Friday night Josh Yeager ran a 9:02.31 in the 3000 steeplechase and picksedup the No. 7 time in State history.
Also on Friday, Cailee Peterson ran SDSU's fifth-best mark in program history with a 4:28.46 in the 1500. A mark that blows past her last PR of 4:43.84.
On the men's side, Lukas Nelson ran a 3:48.20 1500 and took over at SDSU's eight-best mark in program history. Oksana Covey ran a fast 2:07.64 for ninth in the women's 800.

Pierre Lear found his name on SDSU's all-time list after he ran a 14.48in the 110 hurdles and is now eighth at State. In the 400 hurdles, Manny Phoulom-Smith ran a 54.56 for second.
Collette Wolfe ran a blistering 11.90 to take fifth in the 100m dash. The freshman is now the fourth-best in program history. Later in the day, she ran a 100m hurdles PR of 14.68 for ninth behind Jaymie O'Connor (2nd, 13.97), Haley Mottinger (4th, 14.05) and Savannah Risseeuw (7th,14:59, PR)
Mottinger, Wolfe, O'Connor and Jaiden Boomsma ran a 47.48 4x100 for the Jackrabbits and finished third.
In the distance events, Michael Schwinghamer turned in a 9:37.36 in the 3,000 steeplechase for third place, Carter Knaus took fourth with a 3:54.92 in the men's 1500, Alex Auch turned in a 15:13.44 for second in the men's 5000 and the Jacks went second, third and fifth in the 800 with Riley Bauer (2nd, 1:54.14), Daniel Burkhalter (1:54.36) and Blake Iverson (5th, 1:56.47).
In the horizontal jumps, Emily Altenburg took second in the long jump with a distance of 18-11.75, Trey Tiefenthaler recorded a 47-03.00 for second place and Annie Wendt leaped 38-09.50 to win the triple jump.
In the verticals, Addison Eisenbeisz jumped for 5-07.00 and took third place while Trent Francom finished second in pole vault with a 17-10.50 clearance.Â

Leah Hansen ran a 16:18.80 5K and took over at SDSU's second-best time in program history and also set the facility record at the Ole Miss Track & Field Complex. USD CHALLENGE | University of South Dakota - Vermillion, S.D. | FINAL RESULTS
South Dakota State's shot throwers continued their success, this time taking five of the top 10 spots in the event as well as four new marks on the all-time list. Trevor Begeman finished first with a 57-05.75 (2nd all-time), Tyson Jenkins recorded a 57-02.00 (4th all-time), Sam Coil grabbed third with a 57-00.25 (5th all-time) and Noah Huber finishes fifth with a throw of 54-01.00 (9th all-time) while Dominick Etherington took sixth with a 53-09.00.Pierre Lear found his name on SDSU's all-time list after he ran a 14.48in the 110 hurdles and is now eighth at State. Jim Duncan Invite | Drake - Des Moines, Iowa | FINAL RESULTS
Three Jackrabbits also found their way to Des Moines Saturday to compete in the 5000. Joseph Minor-Williams finished second with a 14:19.80, Thomas Breuckman took fourth with a 14:42.65 and Mason McDonald took seventh with a 15:16.53.ÂUP NEXT
The Jackrabbits will head to Sioux City, Iowa for the Sioux City Relays April 16th.
