South Dakota State volleyball announced the addition of junior transfer Jadyn Makovicka to its 2021 roster. Makovicka spent the past two seasons at Rockhurst University and will be immediately eligible to play for the Jackrabbits.

"Our staff is super excited to have Jadyn join our fall 2021 roster," head coach Dan Georgalas said. "She is the final puzzle piece to our depth chart, and I know Jadyn believes in our vision for how we will continue to build this program."

Makovicka played in all 19 matches as a sophomore. She ranked second on her team with 182 digs, averaging 3.19 digs per set. Additionally, she added 32 assists and 12 service aces.

Makovicka earned All-GLVC Second Team honors and was selected as the Baden GLVC Defensive Player of the Week twice as a freshman. She appeared in all 41 matches as she tallied 647 digs and ranked fourth in the GLVC with 4.65 digs per set. Makovicka helped Rockhurst to a GLVC Tournament title and advance to the semifinals of the NCAA D-II Tournament.

"Jadyn joins our roster pretty late in the summer, but we know her talent and athleticism will provide great depth to our DS position," Georgalas said. "Lastly, Jadyn is an exceptional student and excels in her defensive play-making ability. She's a welcomed addition to our family and we hope to make her transition to Brookings as smooth as possible."
