South Dakota State volleyball has announced the addition of Raegan Reilly to the team beginning this spring. Reilly, a Sioux Falls native, has transferred to SDSU following one season at North Dakota State.
"Our staff is happy to welcomeÂ
Raegen Reilly to the Jackrabbit family," said head coach
Dan Georgalas. "Raegen brings a great skill set to our gym that is well-balanced and technical. She can locate well, create good tempos and consistently gives her attackers favorable opportunities. With a high volleyball IQ and a year of experience in our conference, we know Reagan will have no problem transitioning to our program. We are excited for the depth we have at our setter position and we are looking forward to this upcoming position-battle moving forward."
Â
Reilly played one season with the Bison, where she appeared in 29 of the team's 30 matches as a setter. She tallied 788 assists, 210 digs, 30 total blocks and 22 ace serves in her freshman season. With 8.76 assists per set, Reilly ranked fifth in the Summit League in that category. She also made the league's top-25 in service aces and digs.
Reilly is a 2021 graduate of O'Gorman High School in Sioux Falls. She earned all-conference and all-state selections in 2018, 2019 and 2020 to go with all-state all-tournament honors in 2019 and 2020. Reilly was named the Class AA South Dakota Miss Volleyball as a senior in 2020 and was named to the Argus Leader Super 6 list. Her 2020 high school squad went unbeaten to win the South Dakota State Class AA State Championship.
Reilly has accumulated a number of volleyball accolades, including a spot on the South Dakota All-State Volleyball Team, the Margaret Lynch Memorial Award, Adreneline Player of the Year, AVCA High School All-Region honors and being tabbed an AAU Nationals 18 Premier All-American. She finished her high school career with more than 1,700 career assists, 821 digs and 668 kills.
"Raegen gets the honor of being our staff's first in-state recruit," added Georgalas. "We want to recruit local talent as much as possible and Raegen is the first of hopefully many South Dakota natives to join our roster."
