ST. GEORGE, UTAH - After 18 holes at the Lady Thunderbird Invitational the South Dakota State squad sits in second place. The Jacks carded a team score of 302 (+14) and are three shots off the top of the leaderboard with two rounds remaining.
Hester Sicking is tied for fifth place after day one. She put together a 73 (+1) round, three strokes behind first place. She recorded four birdie holes on the day.
Piper Stubbs turned in a 75 (+3) and sits tied for 11th place. She also had four birdies.
Lani Potter,
Shakira-Ann Kuys and
Alex Kandolin ended the day with matching 77 (+5) scores. Potter and Kuys represented the Jacks' team while Kandolin is golfing individually.
Mia Seeman rounds out the Jackrabbit team at +10.
Tatum Depuydt also golfed individually with a +18.
The Jackrabbits totaled the most birdies of any team at the tournament with 16, led by four each from Sicking and Stubbs. Kandolin had the most par holes of any player with 13.
The tournament will resume Friday morning with another 18 holes starting at 9 a.m. MT.
