ST. GEORGE, UTAH - The South Dakota State women's golf team slipped two spots to fourth Friday during the second round of the Lady Thunderbird Invitational at the Sunbrook Golf Course. The Jackrabbits are paced by
Shakira-Ann Kuys, who sits tied for 12th place with 18 holes remaining.
SDSU is +32 as a team after two rounds. The team is one stroke behind third-place Weber State and 11 behind Arkansas State in second. Seattle tops the team leaderboard at +20.
Kuys posted a 74 in Friday's round, moving her up seven places in the standings. She is +7 (151) overall. Kuys is followed by
Piper Stubbs, who is +8, in a tie for 15th place, and
Lani Potter is +8 (t-19th).
Hester Sicking and
Mia Seeman round out the Jackrabbit team at +15 and +17, respectively.
Alex Kandolin is golfing individually and is +12Â while
Tatum Depuydt, also golfing individually, is +29.
Kiana Oshiro of Oral Roberts leads the player leaderboard. She is even-par and has a one-stroke lead on Weber State's Jessica Zelasko (+1).
The Jackrabbits will play the final round of the Lady Thunderbird Invitational Saturday. Play will start at 9 a.m. MT.
