ZGONC EARNS TRIO OF ALL-SUMMIT HONORS

Sioux Falls, S.D. - South Dakota State volleyball's Sylvie Zgonc picked up a trio of postseason honors from the Summit League Saturday. Zgonc was named to the all-Summit first team, all-Summit freshman team and was deemed the league's Freshman of the Year.

Zgonc is the first Jackrabbit freshman in league history to claim Freshman of the Year honors. She powered the SDSU offense with 225 total kills and 3.57 kills per set in league play, which rank second and fourth in the conference, respectively. The Hartford, Wis. was the only freshman to rank among the top 10 in those categories league wide. Zgonc also contributed 2.68 digs per set as a six-rotation player. She finished fourth in the league in points per set (3.90) and was the only freshman in the top 13 in that category.

This is the third consecutive season the Jacks have had a first-team and all-freshman team selection.
