South Dakota State hosts Denver Thursday evening in the second meeting of the year between these teams.
The Jackrabbits are 21-5 on the year and 14-0 in Summit League action. SDSU's win streak is now 14 games following a win at South Dakota last week. State is 11-1 at home this year.
Denver is 11-5 overall with a 7-8 Summit League mark. Most recently, Denver beat North Dakota State 83-71 in Fargo. The Pioneers are 4-7 on the road.
KEY STORYLINES
- South Dakota State returns to Brookings to take on Denver and Omaha in the team's final weekend at Frost Arena. SDSU hosts its annual pink game Thursday night, then will celebrate the team's four seniors with Senior Day Saturday afternoon.
- The Jacks enter the weekend as the only unbeaten team remaining in conference action. The squad clinched sole possession of the Summit League regular season title with a win at South Dakota last weekend.
- SDSU has won 14 consecutive games, which is the third-longest active streak in the country. SDSU has won 24 consecutive league games at home, a streak that began in the 2020-21 season.
- The Jacks lead the Summit League in a number of categories, including scoring offense (85.0), scoring defense (60.1), scoring margin (24.9), field goal percentage (.483) and rebounding (42.1).
- SDSU ranks 10th in the NCAA in rebounding margin (10.0), 14th in free throws made per game (15.73) and 15th in defensive rebounds per game (29.9).
- Myah Selland averages more than 16 points and six rebounds in Summit games to lead the Jackrabbits. Paiton Burckhard and Haleigh score 12.6 and 12.4 points per conference game, respectively.
- SDSU's point guard duo of Paige Meyer and Dru Gylten are two of three total players in the country averaging at least 3.4 assists in 20 minutes or fewer. Paige Meyer is the only player in the country averaging at least nine points and three assists in less than 20 minutes per contest.
- Kallie Theisen comes off the bench to contribute six points and six rebounds per game. She is averaging 11 boards over the last four contests.
- SDSU recently took over the top spot on the mid-major poll. The Jacks are receiving votes in the AP poll and the WBCA coaches' poll for the first time since December.
