For the fifth straight season, the South Dakota State volleyball team has earned academic honors from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), as announced by the organization Thursday.
The Jackrabbit squad is one of more than 1,300 teams nationwide to be recognized. SDSU was honored for the 12th time overall. The award, initiated in the 1992–93 academic year, honors volleyball teams that maintain a year-long grade-point average of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.
