SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State middle blockers
Sydni Schetnan and
Madison Burr secured Peak Performer of the Month honors from the Summit League Thursday.
Schetnan was tabbed Peak Performer of the Month while Burr, a freshman, garnered the inaugural Peak Newcomer of the Month award.
Schetnan earned the female peak performer honor after guiding South Dakota State to the program's best Division I start at 13-0. She hit a blistering .465 over that stretch, which ranked ninth nationally and tops all Summit League players. Schetnan also averaged 2.78 kills and 1.27 blocks per set.
Burr earned the initial female honor after averaging 1.45 blocks per set in her first 13 collegiate matches, which was good for ninth among Division I players. She is the only rookie among the top 20 in that category. Burr also averaged 1.92 kills per set.

- Registered seven double-digit kill efforts, including season-high 17 in league-opening win at Oral Roberts
- Posted a double-double with 12 kills and 10 total blocks in road win at Bradley
- This is the first career Summit League monthly honor for Schetnan

- Logged three matches with double-digit kills, including a season-high 14 in a win at Western Illinois
- This is the first career Summit League monthly honor for Burr
