KUYS LEADS JACKS ON DAY ONE IN GEORGIA

EATONTON, Ga. - Powered by a pair of birdies and steady play throughout, South Dakota State's Shakira-Ann Kuys led the Jackrabbits through day one of the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invite Monday.
Kuys fired a 74 (+2) opening round. She posted an even-par front nine, then went two-over on the back nine. Piper Stubbs was next for the Jacks. She is tied for 51st place (79, +7), followed by Reese Jansa (80, +8), Alex Kandolin in 70th (82, +10) and Molly O'Hara in 73rd place (83, +11).
The Jackrabbits carded a 315 (+27) as a team in round one and are in 14th place.
Host Mercer leads the team standings following the first 18 holes. Delaware's Alisa Khokhlova is in first place in the individual standings.
SDSU returns to the course Saturday for round two.
