South Dakota State enters the final week of the regular season set to take on North Dakota and North Dakota State at Frost Arena. The Jackrabbits already have a win against both opponents this season. SDSU needs one win to take sole possession of the Summit League regular season title and clinch the No. 1 seed for the Summit League tournament.
North Dakota is 9-18 on the season and 5-9 in Summit League action. Most recently, the Fighting Hawks fell 107-80 at NDSU. The Hawks most recent win was a home victory over Denver February 15.
South Dakota State is 22-5 on the season with a 14-0 conference mark and 16-game win streak. The Jackrabbits ran away from St. Thomas last Saturday afternoon in a 97-63 win.
KEY STORYLINES
- The Jackrabbits are 22-5 on the season and 14-0 in the Summit League with a 16-game win streak. Four of SDSU's five losses have come to ranked teams.
- SDSU clinched at least a share of the Summit League regular season title with its win over St. Thomas Saturday. One more win would give the Jacks the trophy outright. They have won at least a share of five of the last six regular season titles.
- South Dakota State's 16 consecutive wins is the fifth-longest active win streak in the country.
- SDSU's .375 3-point percentage ranks 10th in the country, while North Dakota State's .382 ranks ninth. The Jacks are 14th in field goal percentage (.473) and 14th in 3-point defense (.264).
- Paige Meyer is the reigning Summit League Peak Performer of the Week for the third time this season after averaging 20.0 points, 5.5 assists and 5.0 rebounds at a .667 clip in a pair of wins last week.
- Brooklyn Meyer one of three players in the country averaging 18 points at a .600 clip in conference games. She has scored at least 18 points in six of the last eight games, including five with 20+.
- Tori Nelson is six points from entering the top-20 on SDSU's all-time career scoring chart (page 4).
- In conference games, South Dakota State holds a 20.5 PPG scoring margin over its opponents, which leads the league.
- The Jackrabbits are shooting .506 from the field in conference games, which leads the Summit League. They are one of three teams in the nation shooting at least 50 percent in conference games.
- In conference games, Brooklyn Meyer (18.1 PPG), Paige Meyer (13.2 PPG) and Madison Mathiowetz (13.1 PPG) lead SDSU's offense.
- Brooklyn Meyer (7.1 RPG) and Mesa Byom (6.8 RPG) rank third and fifth, respectively, on the conference rebounding chart.
- Tori Nelson has made 101 consecutive starts for the Jacks. In total, she has started 140 total games, which ranks third all-time. She is also third all-time in blocks (138) and fourth in career games played (151).
- SDSU is 63-1 in the Summit regular season over the last four seasons. The Jacks have won 45 consecutive Summit regular season games dating back to Jan. 2022. The Jacks' 45 straight conference wins is the 12th longest streak in NCAA history.
