Ty Kretz fired a 3-under-par 69 to lead the Jackrabbits through the opening round of the Badger Invitational, hosted by Wisconsin, at University Ridge Golf Course on Sunday.Â

Kretz's 69 carded Sunday placed him in a crowded field of individuals through 18 holes. Felix Krammer of Northern Illinois fired a blistering 8-under 64 to lead the pack, while Wisconsin's William Harnet shot a 6-under 66 to sit in second place. Kretz, a Wisconsin native, has been the Jackrabbits' top finisher in their opening two tournaments of the fall.Â

The Jacks currently sit ninth overall among 16 teams at the Badger Invitational. SDSU recorded a 6-over 294 through the first 18 holes of action.Â

Tyler Seeling is among the top 30 individuals after he carded a 1-over 73.
Jake Olson shot a 3-over 75 and
Bryson Mercier fired a 5-over 77 to round out the Jackrabbit scoring on the day.
Blake Schaper completed his first round with a 79.Â

Wisconsin is atop the team leaderboard thanks to a 7-over 281 during the first round of play. Behind the Badgers are Illinois State (282) and Northern Illinois (283).Â

The Badger Invitational continues on Monday with second round action. The second set of 18 holes is slated to begin at 9:30 a.m.
