NEWTON, Kan. – The South Dakota State men's golf team finished in eighth place at Wichita State's Grier Jones Invitational Tuesday.
The Jackrabbits tallied a +10 final team score, finishing one shot behind Omaha, who finished seventh. Kansas City and St. Thomas went two-under over three rounds to tie for the team title.
Ty Adkins had the best finish of the week for SDSU. The junior finished 12th on the individual leaderboard, firing a -2 score over 54 holes.
Bryson Mercier finished 31st with a +3 final scorecard. Mercier rounded out the tournament shooting even par on the last nine holes.
Tyler Seeling posted a +5 three-round scorecard, tallying four birdies during the third round on Tuesday. He finished 38th for the Jacks.
Drew Teeter was one shot back from Seeling, posting a +6 tally to finish 46th. Teeter shot quite steady over three rounds and finished with a par score on 40 of 54 holes, tied for third among all players.
Jacob Wilson placed 74th (+12), marking three birdies during the final lap on Tuesday.
Jake Olson, competing individually, finished 79th (+14).
Kansas City had two players finish inside the top ten. Mason Haley tallied a -7 round on Tuesday and finished first place at -13 overall. Harry Bent fired a -7 round on Sunday's opening round and finished ninth (-4).
NOTES
- SDSU tied for third as a team on par-4 holes. The Jacks averaged 4.07 shots per par-4.
- The Jackrabbits tallied 181 total par scores, which was tied for third among all participating teams.

The Jackrabbits are set to play in the Purdue Boilermaker Invitational October 13-14 in West Lafayette, Indiana.
