With two matches remaining in the regular season, South Dakota State has already clinched the Summit League regular season title outright for the second consecutive season. The Jackrabbits end the Summit slate on the road at Kansas City (3-23) and at home against North Dakota (7-17).
KEY STORYLINES
- South Dakota State enters the week at 20-3 on the season with a perfect 14-0 mark in the Summit League with two regular season matches remaining.
- The Jackrabbits clinched the conference regular season title outright with a pair of wins last week. SDSU will be the No. 1 seed at the Summit League tournament at FIrst Bank & Trust Arena coming up in a couple weeks.
- Dan Georgalas heads to Kansas City with 99 wins as the Jackrabbits' head coach.
- SDSU is rated 23rd in the latest RPI rankings and is the No. 3 non-power-conference team.
- Sydni Schetnan is the reigning Summit League Defensive Player of the Week, taking over for Madison Burr who won the week prior. Schetnan led the lead with 2.63 blocks per set last week and had 11 block assists at St. Thomas, setting a new program record for a four-set match.
- Sylvie Zgonc continues to lead the Summit League in kills per set (4.30) and points per set (4.81) against conference opponents.
- The SDSU defense ranks second in the country in blocks per set (3.10) and eighth in opponent hitting percentage (.155). Sydni Schetnan is 12th individually at 1.47 blocks per set.
- After Zgonc, Madison Burr (2.46) and Hannah Klein (2.32) also notch more than 2.0 kills per set overall.
- In conference games, Rylee Martin dishes 10.55 assists per set, which is second in the Summit League.
- SDSU has five players averaging at least 2.0 digs per set, led by 3.22 digs per set from Joslyn Richardson.
