BROOKINGS, S.D. – Special Olympics South Dakota and South Dakota State Athletics are proud to host Special Olympics Night during the SDSU women's basketball game versus Weber State on Wednesday, December 3, at First Bank & Trust Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
The evening will include the game ball being presented by Special Olympics South Dakota CEO/President Nick Moen and two athletes, Joe Merriam and Scotty Briggs. In-game activities will include a Unified Basketball Game at halftime between two South Dakota State Unified teams.
Special Olympics' Unified Sports brings college students and Special Olympics athletes together to compete and learn how to work with one another. The goal of the Unified Sports is to promote an inclusive culture on college campuses and to unite people with and without intellectual disabilities.
