2017-18:
OUTDOOR: Competed in 14 events in his first full season with the track and field program ... qualified for the NCAA West Prelims (5/24-26) with the 47th-best mark on the declaration sheet ... finished 41st overall (55-05.75) ... earned the right to go the West Prelims from his PR and school-record throw at the Summit League Championships (5/10-12), earning fifth overall (58-00.25) ... it added another 7.50 inches to his PR to take the school record and the all-time best throw for both indoor and outdoor ... he placed seventh overall in the discus at the outdoor championships (165-11.00) ... Leiseth and Noah Huber had been juggling spots in the school’s top 10 for shot put since the beginning of the season ... Leiseth started the outdoor season as 10th-best on the list, but Huber added his name to third-best the list, which kicked Leiseth off the list … In California (Pacific Coast - 4/19, Bryan Clay - 4/18-20), Leiseth recorded a PR on the first day (Pacific Coast, ninth overall - 55-01.00), right behind Huber for fourth all-time … on the second day (Bryan Clay), he added another 1-02.25 feet to the PR (finished fifth overall - 56-03.25), which carved his name into second all-time … then at Mount Marty (4/19), he added another 1-01.50 feet to his PR to tie the school record (won the event - 57-04.75) ... throughout that period, he added 2-03.75 feet to his best throw in six days ... also at the Pacific Coast, added a 12th-place finish (169-05.00) which was good enough for eighth all-time for SDSU ... finished with the team’s best shot put (sixth in the league, 87th in the NCAA) and best discus throw (sixth in the league, 141st in the NCAA) on the season performance list.
INDOOR: Competed in six shot put events ... finished runner-up to earn his first career indoor all-league honors at his first career indoor Summit League Championships (2/23-24) 9... threw the school’s second farthest throw all-time at the SDSU Classic (2/9-10), where he placed fifth overall (56-01.25) - ahead of his father’s (Dave Leiseth) 1991 throw (54-01.25) and just behind John Delay’s 1997 school record throw (57-00.50) ... four of his six attempts on the season would have been on the school’s top 10 ... won (55-01.50) the SDSU Last Chance (2/16) ... finished with the team’s best shot put mark (sixth in the league, 87th in the NCAA) on the season performance list.
2016-17:
OUTDOOR: Competed in three events ... threw the discus twice, making his best in The Summit League Championships (5/11-13), finishing seventh (162-01.00) ... threw the shot put in the league championships, placing ninth (52-09.50).
INDOOR: Did not compete.
FOOTBALL: Backed up at defensive end and played in four games ... credited with first collegiate tackle in road win at Southern Illinois ... notched quarterback hurries in games against Western Illinois and Southern Illinois.
BEFORE TRACK & FIELD (SDSU FOOTBALL):
2015: Shifted briefly to tight end in mid-season and made collegiate playing debut in road win at Missouri State ... did not factor into any statistics.
2014: Missed the entire season due to injury.
2013: Redshirted.
HIGH SCHOOL: Was a force on both sides of the ball for Hamlin High School, earning all-state honors as a wide receiver in addition to being named Eastern Coteau Defensive MVP ... recorded 64 receptions for 1,402 yards and 15 touchdowns in 2012, while adding 384 yards on the ground with six touchdowns ... defensively, racked up 251 career tackles with 25 sacks and 13 forced fumbles ... a three-sport standout, he was a state finalist for the Wendy’s High School Heisman Award ... also earned all-conference honors in basketball and was runner-up in both the shot put and discus at the state track and field meet ... academic all-state selection and member of the National Honor Society ... father, David, lettered in football for the Jackrabbits from 1989-91, and also was a three-time All-American in track and field in the shot put ... younger brother, Tristen, also is a member of the Jackrabbit football team.
