FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- South Dakota State University split a pair of matches Friday at the IPFW Volleyball Invitational.
The Jackrabbits, 11-5 overall, opened play with a three-game sweep of North Florida, then were swept in evening action by host IPFW.
SDSU 3, North Florida 0
Amy Anderson was a force on both sides of the net, sharing match-high honors with 15 kills, while recording a match-high seven blocks as the Jackrabbits won by scores of 30-21, 30-28 and 30-24. Anderson also hit .565 (15 kills, 2 errors in 23 attempts) as SDSU out-hit the Ospreys .339 to .150.
Minette Ridenour and Kristina Martin each added 10 kills for the Jacks, with Ridenour finishing off a double-double with 13 digs. Samantha Pearson tallied a match-high 22 digs, with Kristie Klusaw contributing 49 set assists.
UNF was led offensively by Amy Stroder's 15 kills and the double-double performance by Maegan Wisert, who tallied 14 kills and 10 digs.
IPFW 3, SDSU 0
The Jackrabbits could not get on track as IPFW won by scores of 30-18, 30-26 and 30-23.
Cynara Martins led the Mastodons, 11-8 overall, with 12 kills and 11 digs. Rebekah Roehm and Amanda Pfister each collected nine kills.
SDSU was led offensively by Kristina Martin with 14 kills. Laura Slagter added seven.
Kristie Klusaw turned in a double-double with 30 set assists and 13 digs. Samantha Pearson added 12 digs.
IPFW was credited with 20 more kills than the Jacks, 57-37, and out-hit SDSU .310 to .207.
The Jackrabbits close out the tournament Saturday with a 5 p.m. Eastern Time match (4 p.m. Central) against Robert Morris (Pa.).
