SDSU Classic History

Race Times
6:00pm: Jay Dirksen Men's 8000 meters
5:30pm: Women's 5000 meters
6:15pm: Awards

Location: Edgebrook Golf Course; Brookings, S.D.
1.5 miles south of the intersection of Sixth Street (exit 132 of I-29) and 22^nd Avenue.

Course: Men-8,000 meters and Women-5,000 meters consisting of 1k and 2k loops. The men will go 1k-1k-2k-2k-2k loops and the women will run 1k-2k-2k loops.

Awards: The first 15 finishers will receive awards

Entry Fee: $150 for college teams ($75 for just a men's or women's team). For teams with less than 7 runners for either gender, the fee be $10 per athlete entered. Check can be made payable to SDSU. Unattached runners may compete with a $10 entry fee, but they must contact the meet director prior to entry deadline. Athletes will be provided numbers with embedded chips.

Entries/Timing: Dakota Timing will provide timing for the event

*Please make sure to update your rosters in TFRRS prior entering the meet.

Entry Deadline: Entries must be completed by Wednesday, September 27th by 5 p.m. CST. Late entries will be charged an additional $50.

Scoring: Five runners will constitute a team, there will be sets of results created to separate NCAA Division I schools from the non-division I schools.

Packet Pickup: Packets will be available at Edgebrook Golf Course starting at 4 p.m. at a tent near the start/finish area.

Course Inspection: The course will be open prior to the race. Athletes can also use the perimeter of the golf course on the eastern edge and the bike trails on the northern side of the shelter belt and western edge of the golf course. Avoid all other areas of the golf course.

Trainers: Trainers will be on duty beginning at 4 p.m. Friday, September 29.

Toilet Facilities: Portable toilets will be available in the parking lot.

Parking: Teams with buses/vans can park in the north side of the golf course park lot. Spectators will be required to park in the field south of 3M (look for signs), or the University Mall located 3/8 miles north of the golf course on 22^nd Avenue. The golf course is open during the meet; it is important that the golfers have access to the parking lot.

Team Camps: Should be located just east of the athletic training tents near the finish line. Please refrain from establishing team camps around the clubhouse or cart garage.
