INDIANAPOLIS - A night after squeaking out a five-set win at Western Illinois, the South Dakota State volleyball team came up on the short end of a 3-0 Summit League match on Saturday at IUPUI.
The Jacks fell by the set scores of 25-17, 25-23 and 25-15, and fall to 8-9 overall with the loss, 4-5 in Summit League play. IUPUI improves to 5-15 overall, with the same 4-5 league record.
Ellyce Youngren shined the loss, leading the Jacks with 13 kills and a .407 hitting percentage. Kelli Fiegen added 10 kills with a .333 hitting percentage with a pair of solo blocks and a block assist.
Kalyse Reimbold led the Jaguars with 15 kills and added 11 digs for the match's only double-double.
The Jackrabbits remain on the road next week with league matches at IPFW on Friday and at Oakland on Saturday. The Jacks fell to IPFW in three in the first meeting of the season at Frost Arena, but beat Oakland 3-1 on the same weekend.
