ORLANDO, FLA. - The South Dakota State men's and women's tennis team completed a sweep of Robert Morris for their first wins in Florida on Monday.
The men (3-2) swept all three doubles matches and won four of the six singles contests en route to a 5-2 victory.
Justin Pyle defeated his #1 singles opponent 6-3, 6-2 and #2 Carl Lundberg won 7-5, 6-2.
In #3 singles, Chris Baron took care of his opposition 6-4, 6-1, while James Thorp was successful at #5 with a 6-4, 6-3 win.
The women (1-4) won their first match of the season after falling to Sacred Heart 6-1 on Sunday with a 4-3 victory over Robert Morris on Monday.
Jenny Blackburne continued her impressive freshman season with a straight set win at #1 singles 6-2, 6-1. Brooke Henry also won in two sets 6-3, 6-2.
At #5, Bethany Goeden was victorious 6-3, 6-4 and #6 Natalia Medina won her match 6-2, 6-0.
Both the men and women take on Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday to continue their week long stay down south.
