ORLANDO, FLA. - The South Dakota State men's tennis team continued their week long Orlando trip by defeating Mt. St. Mary's (Md.) 4-3 on Tuesday and losing to Valparaiso 6-1 on Wednesday.
The Jacks had a strong showing from their foreign players as Chris Baron from Canada won at #4 singles 6-0, 3-6, 7-5, James Thorp from Australia defeated his opponent at #5 singles 6-2, 6-4 and #6 Carl Lundberg of Sweden claimed a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
The Australian duo of Dominic Rossetto and Jamie Dash won at #2 doubles over Mike Salomon and Mike Zebetakis 8-4, while Thorp and Lundberg won at #3 doubles 8-3.
Aganist Valparaiso, Lundberg earned the lone SDSU point with a 6-3 first set win and a 7-6 (9-7) second set victory at #6.
SDSU (4-3) faces St. Joseph's on Thursday followed by Southern New Hampshire on Friday.
