Blue Raiders in Town Monday
- After having its five-game winning streak snapped Wednesday, the South Dakota State women's basketball team hosts Middle Tennessee State. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. Monday in the friendly confines of Frost Arena.
- The Jackrabbits, 6-3, lost a heartbreaker Wednesday to Green Bay, 77-75. After taking 66-60 with 4:56 to go, the Phoenix used a 16-9 run to win the game.   Â
- SDSU had three players scoring in double digits, led by freshman Macy Miller, who recorded her second 20-plus point outing of the season with a career-high 23 points vs. Green Bay.
- Middle Tennessee State had a three-game winning streak snapped Friday, losing at No. 8/8 Kentucky, 78-62.
- Monday's game marks the ninth meeting between South Dakota State and Middle Tennessee State. The series is tied 4-4 after the Blue Raiders defeated the Jackrabbits, 59-44, in Murfreesboro, Tenn., last December.
Noteworthy
- South Dakota State looks to avoid losing three games in Frost Arena Monday. The last time that happened was 2012-13 when the Jacks lost to Creighton, Marquette and IUPUI.
- SDSU is 2-2 in Frost Arena this season with its last win being vs. Sam Houston State Nov. 24. Middle Tennessee State is 1-2 on the road, defeating Ole Miss, 71-65, Nov. 23.
- SDSU has had a player score 20-or-more points in six of its nine games and in the last four outings.
- Megan Waytashek has scored in double figures in seven of nine games, made at least one three-point field goal in 17 of her last 21 games and enters Monday's game with 1,084 career points, 11 points short of passing Ashley Eide and moving into 30th.
