Top 10 Teams Meet Wednesday
-Riding a five-game winning streak, the South Dakota State women's basketball team begins a three-game homestand Wednesday when it hosts Green Bay at 7 p.m. in the friendly confines of Frost Arena.
-The Jackrabbits, 6-2, concluded a four-game road swing Dec. 6, defeating Northern Colorado, 71-48.  Â
-SDSU had four players scoring in double digits, led by senior Megan Waytashek who recorded her second 20-plus point outing with 20 points vs. the Bears.
-Green Bay is also off to a good start this season, running its record to 6-2 after beating Western Michigan, 70-55, at home Dec. 6.
-Wednesday's game will be televised live regionally on Midco Sports Net (626 HD channel, standard channel 26). Tom Nieman will call the play-by-play and Brad Newitt will provide the color commentary.
-Wednesday's game marks the third meeting between South Dakota State and Green Bay. The series is tied 1-1 after the Jacks upset the Phoenix in their home opener last season, 66-54.
Noteworthy
-South Dakota State returns home after its longest and its most successful road trip of the season thus far. It went 4-0, knocking off No. 25 Arkansas and winning it first in-season tournament since 2005.
-The last time the Jackrabbits won five consecutive games was when they closed the 2013-14 regular season with wins over Omaha, Western Illinois, North Dakota State, Denver and South Dakota.
-SDSU is 2-1 in Frost Arena this season with its last win being vs. Sam Houston State Nov. 24. Green Bay is 2-1 on the road, defeating Purdue, 81-78 in overtime in its last outing.
-SDSU had a players score 20-or-more points in five of its eight games and in the last three outings.
-Megan Waytashek has scored in double figures in six of eight games, made at least one three-point field goal in 16 of her last 20 games and enters Wednesday's game with 1,074 career points and is 21 points short of passing Ashley Eide and moving into 30th.
-South Dakota State is 2-1 in nonconference home games this season.

-The Phoenix have two players averaging double figures in scoring. Sophomore guard Mehryn Kraker leads the team in scoring (14.8) followed by sophomore guard Tesha Buck (11.1).Â
-On the boards, three Green Bay players average four-or-more rebounds per game led by Kraker who averages 4.9 an outing.
-Megan Lukan dishes a team-best 4.7 assists per game.
-The Phoenix are shooting 45.5 percent from the field, 37.6 percent from three-point range and 68.6 percent from the free-throw line.

SDSU's Sarita DeBoer had a team-best 12 points. The Phoenix shot 65.4 percent from the field, including 62.5 percent from three-point range.
-The Jackrabbits are 15-4 vs. teams from the Horizon League and are 12-8 against teams from the Badger State.
SDSU/UWGB Connections
-Former Jackrabbit Megan Vogel is one of Wisconsin-Green Bay's assistant coaches.
-Vogel graduated from South Dakota State in May 2007 after starting all 120 of the Jackrabbits' contests during her standout four-year career. She finished second all-time on the program's scoring list with 1,850 points.
-Additionally, she notched 194 career three-pointers and 783 career rebounds, good for the third- and fifth-best marks, respectively, in program history.
-During her time with the SDSU program, Vogel was an ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American with a 3.8 cumulative GPA and a top 30 finalist for the 2007 NCAA Woman of the Year Award.
