BROOKINGS, S.D.—The South Dakota State men's tennis team returns to the court when it travels to Lincoln, Neb., Saturday for a 3 p.m. match against Doane College at the Lincoln Racquet Club.
The Jackrabbits, who have played one of their toughest nonleague schedules to date, will be looking to snap a four-match losing streak. In their last outing, they fell 7-0 at Wisconsin Jan. 30.
"After a tough start and a long break between matches, our guys are itching to get back on the court. Even though we haven't gotten off to the start we wanted to interms of results, we have been playing great tennis," sixth-year head coach Michael Engdahl said. "Our guys are really becoming a strong team and that will win us a lot of matches this year. This weekend is the first time we are not a heavy underdog, and I can't wait to see how we respond when roles are reversed."
Seniors Lovro Curcija and Henrique Pereira are the lone Jackrabbits with singles wins at No. 1 and No. 5, respectively. SDSU is also looking for its first doubles point of the season.
Doane is 1-2 on the season after defeating Barton Community College and dropping matches at Omaha and Grand View.
