BROOKINGS, S.D.—The South Dakota State men's tennis team concludes a seven-match road swing when it travels south for two matches this weekend. The Jackrabbits play at Arkansas-Pine Bluff Friday at 11 a.m. and at Murray State at 5 p.m. Saturday.
"The players are definitely going to be bringing the good vibes with them to Arkansas and Kentucky with the energy and effort they have been putting in over the last few weeks," sixth-year head coach Michael Engdahl said. "We have a great opportunity to put a nice winning streak together if we play Jackrabbits tennis, take everything one point at a time, and stay focused on what we do best. We have done a great job being in the moment this year and working our tails off. I expect no different this weekend."
SDSU won its first match of the season last week, defeating Doane College, 7-0. All six singles starters and the Jackrabbits' doubles teams enter the weekend with wins.
Senior Lovro Curcija is 2-0 at No. 1 singles while classmate Henrique Pereira is 1-0 at No. 2 and No. 5 singles.
UAPB will be looking for its first win of the season after dropping its first six matches without winning a set.
Murray State is 1-4 on the season, but has lost its last three matches. The Racers' lone win came vs. Olivet Nazarene University Jan. 30.
