SIOUX FALLS, S.D.—For the second-straight match, the South Dakota State men's tennis team shut out its opponent with a 7-0 win over North Dakota Saturday afternoon at the Huether Family Match Pointe.
With the win, the Jackrabbits are 5-4 overall and UND falls to 0-9.
"The team should be extremely happy with the way they played today. Our intensity was great, and we played clean and smart tennis," sixth-year head coach Michael Engdahl said. "The good vibes and mojo are flowing. Now, we have to work even harder to keep improving."
SDSU won its fifth consecutive doubles point with sophomore Marco Paulo Castro and junior Jonny Higham winning their fourth match in a row at No. 3. Junior Lucas Pereira and freshman Chuck Tang improved to 3-2 at No. 2.
Seniors Lovro Curcija, Henrique Pereira and Mateus Moreira, along with Pereira and Castro, and freshman Emerson Styles, all won in singles.
The Jackrabbits return to action Thursday when they play North Carolina A&T in Greensboro, N.C.
