BROOKINGS, S.D.—The South Dakota State women's basketball team starts the second half of Summit League play when it meets a familiar foe in Omaha Thursday at 7 p.m. in Baxter Arena.
- SDSU is second in the latest Summit League standings with records of 17-4 overall and 7-1 in league play. - All-Summit League candidate Ellie Thompson led three Jackrabbits in double digits with a game-high 16 points in a dominating 68-50 win at Oral Roberts Jan. 27. The forward was 7 of 10 from the field with a pair of free throws.
- Omaha is sixth in The Summit League standings with records of 11-10 overall and 4-5 in league games. The Mavericks enter Thursday's game having lost three of their last five games, including a 74-55 loss at Western Illinois Jan. 30.
- Thursday's game marks the 66th meeting between South Dakota State and Omaha. SDSU leads the series 36-29 after winning the first meeting of the season, 68-58, Jan. 7 in Frost Arena.
- The Jacks play in Baxter Arena for the first time Thursday.
Noteworthy
- Of its eight Summit League opponents in the last eight years, SDSU has two losses to South Dakota and one each to Denver, Fort Wayne and Western Illinois. The most losses have been to Oral Roberts (6), including four on the road, since 2007-08.
- SDSU is 6-1 on the road this season with its lone loss coming at Green Bay, 58-57, Dec. 19.

- UNO has two players averaging double figures in scoring. Junior forward Mikaela Shaw leads The Summit League overall, is second in league games (18.7) and leads the team in scoring, averaging 18.6 per game. She has nine double-doubles, eight 20-plus point games and ranks second in the league in rebounds (8.4). Shaw leads the squad with 3.2 assists per game and is shooting 54 percent from the field, 40.7 percent from 3-point range (11 makes) and 72 percent from the free throw line (72 makes).
- Sophomore guard Remy Davenport averages 10.6 points and is UNO's best 3-point threat, sinking 39.3 percent (48-122) of her treys. She leads the team in 3-point percentage and is third in league-only games (45.6).
- Freshman center Caroline Hogue leads The Summit League in blocks per game (2.7).

- Thursday's game is the 66th meeting between SDSU and Omaha. The Jackrabbits lead the series 36-29 after beating the Mavericks, 68-58, in Frost Arena Jan. 7, 2016.
- The series started in 1976-77 with the Mavericks winning 12 of the first 13 games. The Jackrabbits broke into the win column with an 82-75 overtime victory Feb. 1, 1979, and dominated the series late in the Division II era when SDSU and UNO were members of the North Central Conference.
