BROOKINGS, S.D.—Feb. 67, 2016—With just four home games left, the South Dakota State women's basketball team is atop The Summit League standings and opens a doubleheader with the Jackrabbit men's basketball team by hosting longtime rival North Dakota State Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in the friendly confines of Frost Arena.
- The Jackrabbits, 18-4 overall and 8-1 in league play, are tied with South Dakota in the latest The Summit League standings. They have a four-game winning streak, won their last two home games and 9 of their last 10 games overall, dating to a 58-45 win at Bowling Green Dec. 21.
- Saturday's game will be televised live regionally on Midco Sports Net (626 HD channel, standard channel 26) and on ESPN3 (http://es.pn/1PtCCWn). Tom Nieman will call the play-by-play and Brad Newitt will provide the color commentary.
- All-Summit League candidate Macy Miller and sophomore Alexis Alexander each scored 11 points in a dominating 65-47 win at Omaha Thursday.Â
- North Dakota State is tied for eighth in The Summit League standings with records of 6-17 overall and 1-9 in league games. The Bison enter Saturday's game having lost 9 of their last 10 games, including a 59-58 loss at Oral Roberts Thursday.
- Saturday's game marks the 83rd meeting between South Dakota State and North Dakota State. SDSU leads the series 43-39 after winning the first meeting of the season, 81-63, Jan. 3 in Fargo, N.D.
Noteworthy
- The 2015-16 Jackrabbits are getting close to securing the program's 900th win in the last 50 years. With a win Saturday, SDSU could post the 900th win as soon as Thursday vs. Oral Roberts.
- Of its eight Summit League opponents in the last eight years, SDSU has two losses to South Dakota and one each to Denver, Fort Wayne and Western Illinois. The most losses have been to Oral Roberts (6), including four on the road, since 2007-08.
- SDSU is 9-2 at home this season with its losses coming at the hands of No. 3 Notre Dame Nov. 21 and South Dakota Jan. 17.

- The Bison are 1-9 overall and 0-5 in league road games.
- North Dakota State averages 65 points a contest while giving up 72.3.
- The Bison have two players averaging double figures in scoring. Senior forward Marena Whittle is the lone student-athlete in The Summit League to average a double-double with 17.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game. Sophomore guard Taylor Thunstedt averages 16.6 points. She is NDSU's best 3-point threat, sinking 39.9 percent (65-163) of her treys.
