BROOKINGS, S.D.—The 12th-seeded South Dakota State Jackrabbits (26-6) make their first trip to the Golden State since 2008 when they plays 5th-seeded and 19th-ranked Miami (24-8) in the first round of the 2016 NCAA Tournament. The Jackrabbits and the Hurricanes tip off in Stanford, California, Saturday at 5:30 p.m. CT on ESPN2

• Miami went 24-8 overall and 10-6 in the Atlantic Coast Conference. The Hurricanes lost to Notre Dame in the ACC Tournament semifinals.
• A win over 19th-ranked Miami means a meeting with either No. 4 Stanford or No. 13 San Francisco. Two wins and the Jackrabbits are in Lexington, Ky., for the regionals for the first time in school history.
• SDSU has advanced past the NCAA First Round in 2009, beating TCU, 90-55, March 22, 2009.

That's the longest layoff in the program's history since a 17-day gap between the end of a regular season and the first round of the WNIT in 2008. The Jackrabbits had a 12-day layoff before the 2011, 2010 and 2009 NCAA Tournaments and won its first-round game in 2009.
• The Jacks had five players earn Summit League postseason honors.
